In recognition of Girls in ICT Day, we were pleased to feature this Spotlight Talk with Ms. Tamika Ramkissoon, Senior Product Manager and AI Engineer at I’dEffect Ltd, WiDS TT Mentor for 2026 and TTLAB Alumna. Tamika presented the EquiHeart Framework: a forward-looking approach designed to move healthcare beyond traditional risk scores toward adaptive, transparent and equitable systems, with the Caribbean context front and centre.
Participants explored how to:
- Shift from static risk scores to agentic, adaptive care
- Build trust through real-time explainability
- Ensure fairness, bias mitigation and audit-ready governance
- Design scalable AI solutions for Caribbean healthcare
- Apply these concepts to real-world data
She also underscored why governance and equity can’t be afterthoughts in health AI, encouraging attendees to think about the people behind the scores.
