Malini joined WiDS TT as a mentor in 2024, where she made a notable impact by delivering interactive workshops, organizing data-focused games, and contributing to the development of the WiDS TT website. She was also a member of the winning team in the local segment of Part I of the 2024 Datathon.
She holds an MSc in Data Science and a BSc in Computer Science from The University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus. As a data science professional with web development expertise, she has led digital transformation projects and is currently a Research Scientist at TTLAB. Her recent publication focuses on developing a classification algorithm to automatically detect plankton genus and species from images collected in the Caribbean Region. Driven by a passion for Data Science, Malini continually seeks to expand her knowledge and sharpen her skills to further deepen her expertise.
